Golden Dragon Chinese Food Biography

Gold Dragons are only born at sunrise, so the first rays of dawn will reflect off of their metallic skin, alerting the parents who might have stepped away from the nest that their new treasure has arrived in the world. In ancient times, Gold Dragons were hunted for the precious metals that make up their bodies. To end the violence, a group of Caretakers engineered a magical crop, that when consumed by Gold Dragons, would cause their skin to crumble to ash upon the creature's death.
Despite the Gold Dragon's troubling history, the creatures themselves are extraordinarily positive. They're known to dance in the morning sun, play in the clouds, and reflect rays of light into the habitats of baby dragons, who are endlessly entertained by the flickering wisps. When they reach their Epic Forms, Gold Dragons stop requiring food for sustenance. The massive sails on their wings and head collect solar energy and convert it into nutrients. Extra energy is stored within the dragon, who can breathe the rays onto a village, providing light when light is needed most.
The Gold Dragon has special behavior when it is used as a breeding parent. Unlike dragons with only basic types, it will obey the following rules:
When a breeding pair contains a total of two types - Diamond and a non-minor type - you can get any breedable pure dragon of that type or any corresponding Diamond hybrid that is currently available.
When a breeding pair contains Diamond and at least two other different types, Diamond is then treated as its own type under normal rules and any possible offspring using that pair of parents can emerge. To check the list of possible dragons using a particular pair of parents, use the Breeding Calculator.
The Gold Dragon is the second hybrid dragon with the Diamond type.
The RightHeart, Peacock, Dark Angel, Royal, Sasquatch, Summer, Mythic, Yeti, Rex, Valkyrie, Owl, Cornucopia, Pisces, Mardi Gras, Leprechaun and Crownprince Dragons' designs are based upon the Gold Dragon's, although there are differences between them.
The Gold Dragon is one of the 4 dragons with the longest incubation time. The others are the Crusader, Angel and Diamond Dragon.
Golden dragons, also called Dragon Lords, are known to be the mightiest of the ryūzoku. In actuality, this title belongs to the ancient dragons, but they are more or less extinct by the time the Slayers stories take place. However, as the ancients always tried to distance themselves from open conflicts, the golden dragons have been the leader of the ryūzoku even before their extinction.
Though golden dragons are the smallest of the ryūzoku, they are also one of the most powerful, and are thus known as the Dragon Lords. The golden dragons are currently the most powerful servants of the shinzoku who are not shinzoku themselves. It is probably for this reason that they have such a vast knowlege of white and holy magic. Judging from the effectiveness of their spells, it is speculated that their magic capacity is not that much higher than those of humans, although their unmatched experience in spellcasting still provides them with an edge.
Golden dragons have their unique breath weapon, the so-called laser breath, which is effective against both physical and astral foes, and can be used even while being in their humanoid forms.
Golden dragons have the innate ability to assume human or elven forms. (The latter is assumed because of the pointy ears some of them possess.) It is not well known what extent of control they have over their appearances in this state, but all of their humanoid forms appear to be unique, matching their age, gender and perhaps personality as well. It is known, however, that maintaining this form requires a certain amount of concentration, and parts of their original dragon form (such as their tail) may appear if they are sufficiently distracted or angered.
